Home buyers, property owners, and tenants who have been harmed as a result of a construction defect are advised to contact an experienced building consultant or construction lawyer to schedule a consultation.
You may be coping with losses related to leaky building syndrome or structural defects in a home, apartment, or office building. When you seek compensation for financial or other losses you are sure to face lawyers whose job it is to watch out for the best interests of the builder, developer, vendor, or architect.
Insurance companies employ lawyers to help protect them from liability costs when roofs leak, walls collapse, and dampness causes toxic mold. To level the playing field, you , the injured homeowner, should have your own exeperienced advocate. With more than thirty years of experience the Forensic Team at Buena Vista are well qualified to protect your rights as a home owner and consumer.
Contact our consultants to schedule an appointment as soon as possible-do not delay. Learn now how we can identify the causes of your leaky building or represent you in a Leaky Building Claim.

It has leaks but what an icon
This year we are working with the government and the opposition to put homeowners first in solving leakybuilding issues.
We are meeting also with industry leaders and government officials in Australia, Canada, and the United States.
There is a global problem with leaky buildings in the rush to build cheaper buildings and maximize profits.
We say, safe, mold free buildings that do not leak and are energy efficient are the way to go.
In the long run we will all save money, live in healthier homes, and contribute our part to solving the global warming problem.
HOT OF PRESS
"At this time the Minister regrets that he is too busy to meet leaky building homeowners or the Stop Leaky Buildings Group".
The stop leaky buildings group says to big government and powerful developers and manufacturers -ignor ordinary hard working voters and consumers at your peril.
Politicians must be held to account to the people for the leaky building crisis that has persisted in New Zealand for over ten years.
Ordinary hard working citizens are buying homes approved by the city councils, checked by experts, and now leakying and rotting from inside out.
It is time the gaming by lawyers and consultants is stopped. The government is not there to enable the further victimization of leaky building owners.

When what's new is whats old
Old Vic East(Australia) Court House built circa 1890's still functioning well in 2007

New statistics out from the Real Estate Institute NZ indicate purchasers have lost interest in modern stucco homes and are now buying more older traditional designed homes.
Big government renovation of visitors center three years behind schedule and 200% over budget.

And with lots of leaks!
What was new in the Dicks case West Auckland NZ:
Finally someone had the courage to say that without some control developers would be tempted into using cheap materials which fail early.
JC.
Now all we need to do is pass legislation to increase product liability for building products which do not perform as marketed.
And make huge corporations pay the bill for defective products and not the councils who only increase our rates

Bill Duval visited Wellington in August '07 and met with the Minister of Housing and Justice, the Honourable Clayton Cosgrove.

The Hon. Mr Cosgrove will consider the recommendations made by Bill Duval which include the proposal that all builders be bonded and insured to the value of each home they build.
We are proposing that the warranty bond be part of the licensing requirement for all builders.
Consumers need to be protected so that if the builder goes out of business the insurance company will honour the warranty.
